First Day Of Homeschool Empty First Day Of Homeschool

Post by acaeducated Sun Aug 21, 2011 1:14 am

Hello everyone...I'm not sure if this question has been asked and answered but I was wondering when everyone's start date will be? Are you starting at the same time as the district in your area or will you start on your own predetermined schedule? We're starting September 5th with our end date on May 28th...

Our first day of homeschool is Sept 6, 2011 (the day after Labor Day). I will let them take break when the school district is out, but we will be going by our schedule pretty much.

Ours will start on Sept 5 th, too. I think it will be a light day, maybe a "field trip" if my DH is off work.

Sounds great ladies...My husband will be off so he can be apart of our first day...can't wait to get started...

We're taking the next two weeks to get our house organized so we've been cleaning and throwing away things...a clean start for a new homeschooling year!

We're doing our own year-round schedule and started Aug. 1. We'll have a 6 weeks of study with 1 week break routine. We will still take the traditional breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring, etc. and should be done in June. Thumbs Up

This is a great idea. We have already started, but it is never too late to implement this into our schedule. Very Happy

Did everyone have a great first day of school?

Our first day went well. My 15 year old son seems to like the videos on MathTv.com. My 6 year old was so excited to start his lessons today. Our schedule seems to go better with just listing the subjects and checking them off when completed.

Our first day went very well also...I feel that this year's schedule of 4 weeks on, with Thursday's off, and 1 complete week off is working out so far...

First Day Of Homeschool Empty Re: First Day Of Homeschool

Hello homeschooling family. It's been a while since I've been on the site. This summer for me was filled with multiply trips to doctor after doctor between myself and my daughter Raven. I had another surgery to remove a stuck kidney stone a few weeks ago so it's nice to get back into our homeschooling routine.

How was everyone's first week back homeschooling? We started off a little slow and slightly unorganized but nonetheless back in the swing of things and glad to be getting back to normal.

I just wanted to touch basis with each of you. We hope all is well and you're getting off to a great start for an amazing homeschool year. Take care!

Hello Latrice, it is good to hear from you. I am so glad your surgery went well and that you are back on your feet. Homeschooling is going good so far. My 16 year old has begun US History, so I am having him do a unit study on the movie Roots. He has never seen it before. This movie is sure to spark a lot of questions from him.

I'm new at this Very Happy but I will be starting within the next month, my plan is to go year around, with holidays and breaks in between.
